The EFY Expo 2013 is about 10-15 per cent bigger than last year’s show.
The EFY Expo 2013 is Delhi’s first electronics expo of the season. The expo kickstarted today with chief guest Kapil Sibal, minister of communications and information technology, inaugurating the event at Pragati Maidan.
Sibal was present at the conference on National Electronics Policy- Resurrecting the Electronics Manufacturing Eco-system. Other dignitaries present at the event included J Satyanarayana, secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Govt. Of India, Ajai Chowdhry, founder, HCL, T Vasu, president ELCINA and director, Tandon Group and Ramesh Chopra, founder and vice chairman, EFY Group.
Addressing the industry players present at the conference, Satyanarayana said that the industry is moving in the right direction. He asserted, “The government is trying its best to boost the industry. The recent visits of the minister to nations like US and Japan are a step in this direction. We have received some positive feedback and are working to build on them in favour of the Indian electronics industry.”
Emphasising on the need of depth in technology and design required in boosting electronics manufacturing in the country, Chowdhry said, “Indian industry needs to design and manufacture more and more components domestically. An encouragement in that direction is given by the Preferential Market Access policy. Despite opposition from several companies across the globe, the Government of India must be congratulated for taking PMA forward to give the desired push to the Indian electronics industry.”
The EFY Expo is back this year in a much bigger and better avatar, bringing the entire electronics industry under one roof. This electronics show covers an area of 8090 sq m with 200 exhibitors showcasing their brands and products. The EFY Expo 2013 is about 10-15 per cent bigger than last year’s show. With an aim to become the No 1 expo in terms of the quantity and quality of visitors, this show provides an appropriate platform for buyers and sellers to meet, interact and transact. The presence of global players from electronics-dominant nations like China, Japan and Taiwan at the EFY Expo 2013 increases the scope for players in the Indian electronics industry.
This year’s Expo is particularly important as it is being held in partnership with the Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India. It also has the support of NSIC and the approval of ITPO. The event will help in bridging the gap between the government and the industry, which will hopefully have long term positive effects on the Indian electronics industry. Exhibitors will get an opportunity to boost their business potential and strengthen their business network by reaching out to their target audience.
The buyer-seller meetings at the EFY Expo 2013 will be a major attraction for both exhibitors and visitors. EFY has facilitated such meetings along with ELCINA to bring together those who provide and those in need of electronic components, manufacturing machinery, equipment, technology solutions, materials, products, services, R&D, etc, to network and to explore business opportunities during the Expo.
The EFY Expo was a great success last year, and the trend promises to continue this year as well, with fruitful takeaways for the entire electronics industry.
