Our first magazine—Electronics For You--was launched in January 1969. It was an era when ICs were getting popular and India had almost no television sets. Gradually, over time, we added more magazines, and then launched their digital (e-zine) editions too. While the print editions have majority of readers from India, the e-zine editions are gaining popularity through South Asia, ASEAN and ANZ regions. While others are scaling down their publications—we continue to invest here, and keep growing our portfolio.
Our number of web portals have grown over the years. We started with Electronicsforu.com in 1996, and now have four major web-portals and many more niche portals. All of them have one thing in common—their focus on technology. Over 50 per cent of our audiences come from countries other than India.
Thanks to popular social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter, etc—we have been able to cater to audience beyond publications and web portals. While many claimed that social media platforms are not good to engage B2B audiences, our communities which span more than 2 million techies proved otherwise.
The need to interact with our audiences face-to-face and gain a better understanding of their expectations from our platforms—motivated us to launch our events too. We organise few events including ELCINA-EFY Awards, Open Source India, India Electronics Week, EFY Expo, IOTshow.in, EFY Conferences, LEDasia.in, T&M Expo and RISC.
